How to refresh your Candle?

How to refresh your Candle?

January 23, 2026

One of the most common questions we get about Elumi Pearled Candles is: "Do I have to use a new wick each time?" The answer is no...but you can if you want to!
Elumi isn’t just meant to burn once and be done. With a little care, you can refresh it and make it look brand new again. Here are a few easy ways to give your candle a second (or third) life while making sure it burns beautifully every time:

1. Relight and Reuse:
Elumi Wicks can burn up to 12 hours, and you can enjoy them in short or long doses until they last. Our wicks are designed for multiple uses, so feel free to relight the same wick as many times as you want.  This not only saves you money but ensures you get the full benefit of every wick and burn.

2. Add a New Wick:
If your current wick is burned down or you just want to make your candle look and feel brand new again, swapping the wick for a new one is the best way to go! Just lift the wick to pull all the melted part out, shake it to level the pearls, and add a new wick for a brand new candle.

3. Flip the Wick:
Want to reduce waste and make the most of your candle? We've got you covered! Try flipping the wick! This allows you to use every bit of the product while still making it look brand new after first use. When inserting the wick, aim for about a quarter inch of the wick sticking out of the wax. This ensures a steady and efficient burn while giving you the longest burn time possible. It’s an easy way to refresh your candle and keep things tidy.

Pro Tip:
You can recycle the melt pool by mixing it back into your candle. Just wait for it to solidify, crush it up finely, and add back to the candle. It’s a sustainable way to reuse your wax and get even more out of your candle.

Bonus Tips:
• For maximum burn time, make sure you’re inserting your Elumi Wick correctly!

• Always aim to leave a quarter-inch tip of wick sticking out of the wax for maximum burn time. The more wick you leave out, the quicker it will burn up.
